Writing Spaces

Three writing spaces I use most frequently are cell phone text messaging screens, email, and word processing pages. Text messaging screens are limited to 160 characters per message. Because of this, most people use acronyms or short hand to get their message across in a shorter amount of characters. Email characteristics can vary based on which server you have. Most emails have text and attach files. Some can insert pictures and can use different types of text fonts and colors. Word processing spaces can be used to write about anything. Most students use the space to write papers and essays. Others may use it to write reports for work. Some features are spelling and grammar check, word count, highlighting and commenting features, and so on.

Cell phones remediated email in the sense that they are more immediate then emails. Most people have their cell phones on them all the time, making that the quickest way to contact the person. If a message is urgent, an email may not be the most efficient way of getting the message across. In this way cell phones replace email because email is not needed to send the message.
