Encourage Creativity

All teachers can and should encourage their students to be creative. In the article Encouraging Creativity in the Classroom, it explains that teachers should lead by example. While teaching you should move around the classroom and perhaps even try sitting on their level instead of lecturing from a desk or PowerPoint. Changing the way a room is set up will also inspire students. Making a circle with the desks instead of the traditional rows may make a difference. Holding class outside on occasion will also change the way students think. The change in scenery may inspire some students. Poetry is one area mentioned where students can be as creative as they wish. I would say story writing is another activity that would inspire creativity.
